Budget Committee

Charge

The Budget Committee is an advisory group that monitors the spending of the library's materials budget. It makes sure the library's accounting (through Voyager) stays in sync with the university budget system, watches trends within the spending on Voyager, and advises collection development on the need to increase or decrease the rate of spending. At the beginning of the fiscal year, the committee advises the Director of Collection Development about the purchasing patterns of each fund, to help inform his allocation-setting process. The committee also prepares periodic budget reports for directors and bibliographers.

The committee usually meets on the first Monday of the month. (No meetings in July and August.)

Membership

The committee consists of:

  • Director, Administrative Services
  • Director, Collection Development and Management
  • Goldstein Director of Information Processing
  • Head of Electronic Acquisitions
  • Head of Monograph Acquisitions
  • Head of Serials (chair)
