Functions
Postcataloging is the marking, binding, and preservation arm of the library.

MARKING: We produce and place call numbers on all books, videos, CDs, DVDs, and anything else that needs a call number. We also place bookplates, security plates, and complete all library stamping. Stamping includes the number-stamping of all microfiche. We are responsible for quality control, which means checking to see that what is online corresponds with the book or item that we have labeled and processed.

BINDING: We prepare items (journals, etc.) to be sent out for binding to our vendor. This means making a record of what is being sent out either on the computer or by hand and making sure that it is in the proper order and processed correctly with instructions. We also do some minor in-house repair work.

PRESERVATION: We evaluate and process items to be rebound, including preservation photocopying, phase boxes, etc.
